If you enjoy meeting people, sharing stories and learning about local history, we’d love to hear from you. The Langley Heritage Society is accepting applications for volunteers to help interpret the historic Fort Langley Heritage CNR Station. We’ll train you to share its rich history to visitors from around the world. Volunteers act as guides and answer questions inside the 1915 station house, 1947 passenger car and vintage wooden caboose with its delightful 1950s era HO scale model railway. Our new season begins this coming Victoria Day Monday from noon until 4:oo pm.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our society and have kept this award-winning organization vibrant for 40 years. CNR Station manager Helen Williams says, “Whether you would like to work behind the scenes or in the public eye, we have something to offer.” Volunteering helps connect people to their community in a powerful way. For students, it’s also an excellent way to add to their CV and build confidence. There are also other volunteer opportunities with the Langley Heritage Society — assisting at special events, helping maintain our heritage properties or advocating for local heritage.
When:? Fort Langley’s CNR Station is open from the May Long Weekend until the Cranberry Festival on Thanksgiving Weekend.
