Christmas Newsletter

This has been an especially challenging year for all, but we continue to work on projects at the heritage CNR Station, and also maintain buildings restored by the Langley Heritage Society. We can't let Christmas go by without our quarterly newsletter, which you can read HERE.  It includes a message from our president, Fred Pepin, Christmas traditions, an update from the CNR Station, and a Wheels of Time Christmas story. Merry Christmas to all of our members  -- and stay safe! We hope to see you in the year ahead.

Christmas Cheer at Michaud House

It just isn't Christmas until Sandra Reams decorates historic Michaud House in Langley City. Sandra is a long-time tenant who loves gardening and adding Christmas cheer to this lovely farmhouse built in 1888 by Joseph and Georgiana Michaud -- the first French Canadian family to settle on Langley Prairie. Thanks to LHS's Helen Williams for the photos. More about Michaud House and a video HERE.

Mr Simpson rolled the cart out from the baggage room, its wheels screeched like angry blackbirds. The oil can could wait until tomorrow. Christmas Day, 1919. It’s Beginning to Feel…

The Covid-19 pandemic has kept the heritage CNR Station in Fort Langley closed to the public this season -- however our volunteer elves have still been busy. Thanks to Juli-Anne, the depot door and windows are festive. The station is closed, but the platform is open for physically-distanced visits to see the station house, caboose and railway car. Stay safe!
