“Spirit of the Skeena” has been moved from one side of the airport to other. The DC-3 that was built in 1935 belongs to the Canadian Museum of Flight and is now beside the Magnificent Seven mural at Langley Airport. For the public it makes for a close-up view of this vintage aircraft that did service in B.C. From the museum’s website: “This Douglas DC-3 in fact, was the first DC-3 to be owned and operated by a “home grown” B.C. airline, — Queen Charlotte Airlines. She became Pacific Western Airlines first DC-3 and as such was assigned the fleet number of 301. Today, CF-PWH is the oldest surviving DC-3 in Canada.” The museum will eventually move to Pitt Meadows Airport, a project that could take up to 5 years. More about the Canadian Museum of Flight HERE
