Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Langley Heritage Society. Volunteers help keep our society vibrant — and help preserve Langley’s heritage.
If you enjoy meeting new people, sharing stories and learning about Langley’s history, then you’ve picked the right place. The Langley Heritage Society is accepting applications for volunteers to help interpret the historic Fort Langley CNR Station, and we’ll train you to describe its rich history to visitors from around the world. Volunteers guide and answer questions inside the 1915 CNR station house, 1947 vintage passenger car and wooden caboose with delightful 1950s era model railway.
Volunteers are our lifeblood who have kept this award-winning society vibrant for 40 years. There are also other volunteer opportunities — from assisting at special events, helping maintain our heritage properties to advocating for local heritage. CNR Station manager Helen Williams says, “Whether you would like to work behind the scenes or in the public eye, we have something to offer.” Being a volunteer is fulfilling and helps connect people to our community in a powerful way. For students, it’s also an excellent way to add to their CV and build confidence.
When: The heritage CNR Station is open from the May Long Weekend until the Cranberry Festival on Thanksgiving Weekend. We also have other volunteer opportunities with our society year round.
